Case Study – A. D. v. State of Cal. Highway Patrol

The Claims: Police Misconduct, Excessive Force
The Result: The CHP shot and killed decedent’s mother. A unanimous federal jury determined the client’s parent’s death was the product of excessive force. The Ninth Circuit agreed with the plaintiffs, and clarified the applicable legal standard.
